Silicon is the most common metalloid. It is a chemical element, which has the symbol Si and atomic number 14. The atomic mass is 28.0855. A tetravalent metalloid, silicon is less reactive than its chemical analog carbon. As the eighth most common element in the universe by mass, silicon very rarely occurs as the pure free element in nature, but is more widely distributed in dusts, planetoids and planets as various forms of silicon dioxide (silica) or silicates. On Earth, silicon is the second most abundant element (after oxygen) in the crust,making up 25.7% of the crust by mass.

Silicon has many industrial uses. It is the principal component of most semiconductor devices, most importantly integrated circuits or microchips. Silicon is widely used in semiconductors because it remains a semiconductor at higher temperatures than the semiconductor germanium and because its native oxide is easily grown in a furnace and forms a better semiconductor/dielectric interface than any other material.

In the form of silica and silicates, silicon forms useful glassescements, and ceramics. It is also a constituent of silicones, a class-name for various synthetic plastic substances made of silicon, oxygen, carbon and hydrogen, often confused with silicon itself.

Silicon is an essential element in biology, although only tiny traces of it appear to be required by animals. It is much more important to the metabolism of plants, particularly many grasses, and silicic acid (a type of silica) forms the basis of the striking array of protective shells of the microscopic diatoms.

Death rate falls when doctors go on strike
"There are only four times in recorded history that the death rate actually fell. The first was in highly technologically developed Israel in 1973. During a one-month physicians' strike, the national death-rate reached the lowest rate ever. According to statistics by the Jerusalem Burial Society, the number of funerals dropped by almost half.

The same thing happened again in 1976 in Bogota, the capital city of Colombia. There, the doctors went on strike for 52 days. The death rate fell by 35% (National Catholic Reporter and confirmed by the National Morticians Association of Colombia).

Similar events happened in California a few years later, and in the United Kingdom in 1978 (see "Confessions of a Medical Heretic", by Robert Mendelsohn, MD)."

So, does in not stand to reason to find others ways to stay healthy, other than using allopathic doctors and getting prescriptions filled?

i did try many time to open all those links but NO possible...!

but anyway, i went to another sources then found out that I thought I understood it in the class but still got confused after reading all those articles, my brain is fried on this mole thinging... the more i read the more i fried... esp. the concept map is on its way..

what I think I understood in the class was that to calculate how many molecules, just take the molecule weight of an element then multiply by Avogadro's number, then u get the mass in grams...

mmm, I'm feeling a little lost in transition. I'm going to walk through everyone else's blog now!

I kept reading through the definitions and tried to make some kind of connections inside my brain, wasn't as easy as I hope it would be. 
What i see  from this website, in terms of the science itself, I managed to follow the idea of a hypothesis, how it works and why it's necessary, but the actual concepts and math itself somehow still confusing even though it may not supposed to be. 
And very interesting that the people who came up with some brilliant idea die in obscurity before it's recognized, then represented him after his death. I guess during Avogadro's life, people thought John Dalton was the coolest. How crazy it must have been for all those chemists through all those years working head off of Dalton's wrong calculation, and thanx god they finally got it that Avogadro was right.

Chemtrails

The chemtrail conspiracy theory holds that some contrails are actually chemicals or biological agents deliberately sprayed at high altitudes for a purpose undisclosed to the general public. Versions of the chemtrail conspiracy theory circulating on the internet and radio talk shows theorize that the activity is directed by government officials.As a result, federal agencies have received thousands of complaints from people who have demanded an explanation. The existence of chemtrails has been repeatedly refuted by government agencies and scientists around the world.

The chemtrail conspiracy theory began to circulate in 1996 when the United States Air Force (USAF) was accused of "spraying the US population with mysterious substances" from aircraft "generating unusual contrail patterns".

The United States Air Force has stated that the theory is a hoax which "has been investigated and refuted by many established and accredited universities, scientific organizations, and major media publications". The British Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has stated that chemtrails "are not scientifically recognised phenomena". The Canadian Government House Leader has stated that "The term 'chemtrails' is a popularized expression, and there is no scientific evidence to support their existence."

The term chemtrail is derived from "chemical trail" in the similar fashion that contrail is an abbreviation for condensation trail. It does not refer to common forms of aerial spraying such as crop dustingcloud seeding or aerial firefighting. The term specifically refers to aerial trails allegedly caused by the systematic high-altitude release of chemical substances not found in ordinary contrails, resulting in the appearance of supposedly uncharacteristic sky tracks. Believers of this theory speculate that the purpose of the chemical release may be for global dimmingpopulation control,weather control, or biowarfare and claim that these trails are causing respiratory illnesses and other health problems.

Alkali earth metal

Magnesium is a chemical element with the symbol Mgatomic number 12, atomic weight 24.3050 and common oxidation number +2.

Magnesium, an alkaline earth metal, is the ninth most abundant element in the universe by mass. The commonness of magnesium is related to the fact that it is easily built up in supernova stars from a sequential addition of three helium nuclei to carbon (which in turn is made from a single reaction between three helium nuclei at once). Magnesium constitutes about 2% of the Earth's crust by mass, which makes it the eighth most abundant element in the crust. Magnesium ion's high solubility in water helps ensure that it is the third most abundant element dissolved in seawater.

Magnesium is the 11th most abundant element by mass in the human body; its ions are essential to all living cells, where they play a major role in manipulating important biological polyphosphate compounds like ATPDNA, and RNA. Hundreds of enzymes thus require magnesium ions in order to function. Magnesium is also the metallic ion at the center of chlorophyll, and is thus a common additive to fertilizers.Magnesium compounds are used medicinally as common laxatives, antacids (i.e.,milk of magnesia), and in a number of situations where stabilization of abnormal nerve excitation and blood vessel spasm is required (i.e., to treat eclampsia). Magnesium ions are sour to the taste, and in low concentrations help to impart a natural tartness to fresh mineral waters.

The free element (metal) is not found naturally on Earth, since it is highly reactive (though once produced, is coated in a thin layer of oxide which partly masks this reactivity). The free metal burns with a characteristic brilliant white light, making it a useful ingredient in flares. The metal is now mainly obtained by electrolysis of magnesium salts obtained from brine. Commercially, the chief use for the metal is as an alloying agent to make aluminium-magnesium alloys, sometimes called "magnalium" or "magnelium". Since magnesium is less dense than aluminum, these alloys are prized for their relative lightness and strength.

Alchemy

Alchemy is both a philosophy and a practice with an aim of achieving ultimate wisdom as well as immortality, involving the improvement of the alchemist as well as the making of several substances described as possessing unusual properties. The practical aspect of alchemy generated the basics of modern inorganic chemistry, namely concerning procedures, equipment and the identification and use of many current substances.

The fundamental ideas of alchemy are said to have arisen in the ancient Persian EmpireAlchemy has been practiced in Mesopotamia,EgyptPersia (today's Iran), IndiaChinaJapan,and Korea in Classical Greece and Rome, in the Muslim civilizations, and then in Europeup to the 20th century—in a complex network of schools and philosophical systems spanning at least 2500 years.

Alchemy in traditional medicine ( interesting)

Traditional medicines involve transmutation by alchemy, using pharmacological or a combination of pharmacological and spiritual techniques. In Chinese medicine the alchemical traditions of pao zhi will transform the nature of the temperature, taste, body part accessed or toxicity. In Ayurveda the samskaras are used to transform heavy metals and toxic herbs in a way that removes their toxicity. These processes are actively used to the present day.

Contemporary art.

Just found out that a few contemporary artists use alchemy as inspiring subject matter, like, in the twentieth century alchemy was a profoundly important source of inspiration for the Surrealist artist Max Ernst, who used the symbolism of alchemy to inform and guide his work. 

This is so inspiring, thanx for the alchemy....i'd love to do the same, or may be i've already did.mmm not sure..
